Beware of “spoofing” emails

Please do NOT open any emails that look suspicious.  We have seen a few recently circulating with an @waterfront.net.au email address with attachments.   These emails do not originate from Waterfront  – their addresses are just edited to make them appear that way.  This is what is known as “email spoofing”.  Spoofing is the forgery of an email so that the message appears to have originated from someone or somewhere other than the actual source.    The  idea is to make it seem like the message is legitimate – in order to trick people into opening it.    Please be careful.
